Summer Intensive  Photography Workshop

21-27 July 2014 Paleros    4 -10 August 2014 Lefkada

POSTER WORKSHOPS_LOW 2

This Workshop will focus on visual story telling. How can we tell a story through images? How do images affect us? What does it take to create one strong image? How can we combine Image and Words to create meaningful artistic pieces? And how can we heal our selves and others through the power of visual creations?

Combining theory and practice, individual and teamwork participants will try to make their own visual essay on Paleros Village and on Lefkada Island respectively.   The aim is to guide the participants through technical, theoretical and aesthetic issues towards developing their own photographic style.

The seminar will take place in Peleros Village in July and on the main town of Lefkada island (lefkada) in August.  Participants of the seminar in Paleros will stay for a week in a local Guesthouse close to the sea with a great mountain view  and participants of the Lefkada workshop will stay in  a restored mansion in the heart of the old town, an ideal place to explore local culture and interact with the friendly population. During the days of the seminar the participants will shoot, edit and finally create a small portfolio with their views of the village/island. The classes will take place during mornings and afternoons in the same guesthouse/mansion, with free time in between to enjoy the sea and the sun.

The seminar is open to a limited number of participants- only eight people will be admitted after a portfolio review and a motivation letter. The small number of the group will make the teamwork more efficient, allowing   time for personal consultations. All participants must have their own equipment and personal computers. DSLR cameras will be also available on the spot if needed, as well as printing services for reviewing the materials and additional laptops.
