Teacher Training Yoga Workshop for children (23-26 JUNE 2017 PALEROS)
Based On The Waldorf Pedagogic Method
Led by Coni Guevara

A two-day experiential teacher training yoga and pedagogics for parents, teachers, therapists, dancers, educators and everyone else + one extra day of ACROYOGA immersion.

About

This summer AMAKA will have the pleasure to host for a few days in Greece the yoga teacher and educator Coni Guevara. Coni has been working with vulnerable groups around the world and she implements an original technique for physical expression for children, using yoga techniques adapted to the philosophy of the human sophism.
The techniques use body, art, imagination and the heart in order to help the children trust each other, develop creative thinking, dream freely while cultivating the body and the mind. This approach awakens natural, behavioral, emotional, cognitive, social and spiritual aspects of the personality, which in turns results into an evolved social consciousness and intellect.

The workshop is organised by AMAKA in cooperation with FindYourLefkada and will take place in the Yoga Hostel, an ideal place for rest, a few meters off the sea in Palairos village of Aitoloakarnania a few kilometers away from the magic island of Lefkas. Yoga Hostel has fully equipped studios around a beautiful garden and two yoga decks in amazing locations. The participants will be able to combine their stay with walks in the nature and by the beach, enjoying vegetarian organic food prepared by the Foodpath team.

Waldorf pedagogic method:

«Where is the book in which the teacher can read about what teaching us? The children themselves are this book. We should not learn to teach out of any book other than the one lying open before us and consisting of the children themselves.»

Rudolf Steiner, Human Values in Education

The initiator of the school is Rudolf Steiner, founder of the human sophists. Great value is placed on the role of imagination to channel learning and to the holistic development of the student. The first Waldorf School opened in Stuttgart, while today there are hundreds of human sophist schools around the world. The philosophic stance behind the pedagogic application is the urge of the individual to internal liberation and mental development.
